Our workshop is located over in Bommanhalli Village, right on the Devarachikkanahalli Road in the Begur Hobli area. It is a bit of a trek if you are coming from the main city, but we have been at No 63/5 for a long time now. The building is usually full of the sound of sewing machines running from morning until the evening. Since we do garment exports, there are always big stacks of fabric sitting around and boxes piled up near the loading area. It gets a little crowded when a big shipment is about to go out, and we have to move things around just to find a place to stand. Most of the people working here live nearby in the village, so it feels like a local operation. We do not have much in the way of a fancy office; it is mostly just the production floor and a small space for the paperwork. The road outside can get very busy with traffic, especially when the trucks are trying to turn in. We have seen the neighborhood change quite a lot over the years, but we just keep doing our work inside. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to wait a bit, but we usually make up the time. It is a lot of sewing, packing, and checking labels every single day. We just focus on getting the clothes ready for the containers.
