Basil Hotel

The hotel is right on Sampige Road in Malleswaram. It’s a busy spot, No. 8 to be exact. We’ve been around here for a while now. Some mornings I get in early and the street is already full of people headed to the flower market or just walking to work. It can get pretty noisy outside, but inside the rooms it stays fairly quiet for the guests. We have a few floors and an elevator that sometimes takes its time, but it gets the job done. The lobby isn't very big. There is a desk where someone sits all day and night to hand out keys and take down details in the ledger. Sometimes the rain hits this part of Bangalore hard and we have to make sure the entrance stays dry. Most people stay with us because they have work nearby or family in the 560003 area. We keep things simple. The linens get changed every day and the fans work fine. There are plenty of small shops just outside our door if you need a tea or a quick snack. It’s just a regular place for people to sleep when they are traveling through this part of the city. We don't have fancy stuff here, just the beds and the bathrooms and enough space to put your bags down. I usually spend my afternoons checking the kitchen supplies or making sure the water heaters are behaving. It's just how things go here.
