We are located at Kiran Nilaya, which sits right between the 1st and 2nd Block in Gurumurthy Reddy Layout. It is a bit of a quiet area in Rammurthy Nagar, Bangalore. Our work at Barber Ship Management is mostly about the logistics and the back-end stuff that keeps vessels moving across the ocean. It is kind of strange to be doing ship management in a city like Bangalore where there is no water in sight, but we make it work with a lot of phone calls and emails. The office isn't anything fancy, just a regular space where we keep our files and computers. Most days are spent tracking where things are and making sure the crews have what they need. We have been in this spot for some time now and the locals know us. It gets busy during the day with the traffic outside, but inside the layout, it stays pretty calm. We don't really do much advertising or anything like that. People who need us usually know where to find us. We just focus on the daily tasks of managing the ships and making sure the paperwork is in order. Sometimes the internet acts up or the power goes out, which is just part of living in Bangalore, but we get through it. It’s a straightforward job and we like the neighborhood here because it feels like a real community instead of a cold business district with no character.
