Our office is tucked away over in Banashankari II Stage on K.R. Road. It is not one of those huge glass buildings you see in the tech parks. It is a more modest place where we spend our days writing code and fixing bugs. Most of the people working here have been with us for years. We know each other’s lunch orders and who likes the air conditioner turned up too high. The desks are covered in monitors, half-empty water bottles, and tangled charging cables. It is a bit messy, but that is how we seem to function best. We spend a lot of time in meetings that probably go on a bit longer than they should. Sometimes we get stuck on a problem for hours and just stare at the screen until someone suggests a walk outside to clear our heads. The local food stalls around K.R. Road are where we usually end up for a break. We don’t have a big corporate feel here. If you call, you are probably going to talk to someone who is actually working on the software. We try to keep things simple and just focus on getting the systems to work like they are supposed to. It is quiet work for the most part, except for the tapping of keyboards. We are just a group of people who enjoy building things with computers and living in this neighborhood. It is home to us.
