If you look for us on Mamundy Pillai Street, you will find our office at number 20, which is also sometimes called New 4. We are situated in the Shivana Chetty Garden area of Bangalore. Working at Balmer & Lawrie Tours & Travels means dealing with a lot of schedules and bookings every single day. The office isn't particularly large but it serves us well for what we do. The street outside can get quite crowded with bikes and people moving around, especially in the mornings when everyone is rushing. We usually have the radio playing quietly in the background while we sort through travel documents. It’s a lot of typing and checking details on the screen to make sure everything is right. We don’t really do anything flashy here. We just sit at our desks and try to get through the list of things to do before the day ends. Shivana Chetty Garden has its own charm and we have gotten to know the shopkeepers nearby pretty well over the years. Sometimes the power goes out for a bit but we just wait it out and get back to work once it is back. It’s a plain, honest workspace where we focus on the tasks at hand. There is always someone coming in or out with questions about trips or tickets. We just keep things moving as best as we can without making a big fuss about it, just dealing with the daily travel needs.
