I am located up on the first floor of the Sujatha Complex in Chickpet. My name is Aswantha Narayan S N and this is where I do my daily business. Chickpet is a maze if you aren't used to it, with all the narrow lanes and the hundreds of shops selling everything under the sun. The Sujatha Complex is right in the thick of it at number 41365. You have to navigate through the crowds of shoppers and coolies to get to the stairs. Once you are inside on the first floor, it gets a little bit quieter, though you can still hear the shouting of the street vendors outside. My space is pretty basic. I have my files, a place to sit, and enough room to meet with people who come by. I don't see any reason to have a flashy office when the real work is just about being here and being available. I have spent many years in this market area and I know how the trade moves. It is a demanding place to work because of the heat and the constant movement, but I wouldn't want to be anywhere else. I usually get in early before the heavy rush starts. Most of my day is spent on the phone or talking to people across the desk. It is a practical, no-nonsense way of doing things in a very busy part of town. I just take things one day at a time.
