We run Aswanilogistics out of Singasandra village, near Vanakana Halli in the Anekal area of Bangalore. It’s a bit on the outskirts, which helps because we deal with moving things around. We’ve got a small space here where we manage the trucks and the paperwork. It isn't a fancy logistics hub like you see on the news. It’s mostly just a few of us making phone calls and making sure the drivers know where they are going. The roads around Anekal can be rough, especially when it rains, so we spend a lot of time worrying about schedules and timing. We started this because we knew the area and saw that people needed help moving goods from one place to another. We don't have a big corporate office or a board of directors. It’s just a practical operation. Some days are slow, and other days everyone is shouting at once because of a late delivery. We keep our logs in big books and try to stay as organized as we can. The office is small and usually smells like tea and old paper. We don't use any high-tech systems, just our phones and what we know about the local routes. It’s a tough business, but we’ve been doing it for a while now. We know most of the local businesses around here. We just try to get the job done without too much trouble. It’s a simple life for us here in the village, keeping the trucks moving every day.
