Ashwin Architects

We are Ashwin Architects and we’ve been here in Basavanagudi for a while now. The office is on Ratnavilas Road, number 23. Most days it’s just us sitting around big tables with rolls of paper and computers. We spend a lot of time talking about walls and windows. Sometimes the coffee gets cold because we're looking at a blueprint for too long. People stop by to ask about their houses. We do a lot of residential stuff around this part of town. It’s busy but we like it. The traffic outside is loud sometimes. We handle the paperwork and the designs. It's mostly just figuring out how to make a space work for the people living there. We aren't doing anything fancy, just solid work. The building itself is easy to find. If you’re walking down the road, you’ll see our sign. We try to keep things simple here. Designing a house takes time and we don't like to rush it. Usually, there are three or four of us in the back arguing over a measurement or a material. It’s a good way to spend the day. We’ve seen the neighborhood change a lot over the years. Staying here feels right because we know the local soil and how the light hits these streets. It is mostly about getting the lines right on the page before the builders start their work on the ground. We have a lot of old files from past years too.
