Ashraya International Hotel

Ashraya International Hotel is located right in the middle of Bangalore. It’s one of those places that has been around while the city changed around it. Every morning starts with the sound of the city waking up—the buses and the horns. Inside the hotel, the air is a bit stiller. We spend a lot of time walking the hallways and making sure everything is where it should be. The lobby has those heavy chairs that have seen a lot of people over the years. We don't have a lot of fancy technology here; it’s more about the people working the shift. You’ll see the staff in their uniforms, maybe a bit wrinkled by the end of the day because there is always something to do. The kitchen starts up early, and you can hear the clatter of plates and spoons through the hallway. Bangalore is a busy place, so we get people from all over who are just looking for a place to stay for a night or two. Sometimes the elevators make a weird groaning noise, but they always get you to your floor eventually. We keep a big ledger at the front desk and try our best to keep up with the arrivals and departures. The windows in the rooms look out over the Bangalore skyline, which is always changing with new buildings going up. We don't try to be anything we aren't. It’s just a hotel where we do our jobs.
