Down here in Hosur, things move at a different pace, especially with all the industry around. We are located at Kalingavaram in the Krishnagiri district of Tamil Nadu. The address is a bit of a mouthful, but once you know the way past the post office, it’s not hard to find. Being part of the Ashok Leyland-2 setup means there is always a lot of activity. You can hear the sounds of trucks and machinery in the distance almost all day long. The air is warm, and the sun can be quite sharp, so we stay inside as much as possible during the afternoons. Our office space is practical, filled with the usual stuff like logbooks, old pens, and stacks of papers that need filing. We don’t spend much time worrying about how the place looks to outsiders; we just care about getting the jobs done correctly. Most of the people working here live nearby in the Tk area, so there’s a lot of local talk during the tea breaks. We share news about the rains or the local festivals while we sit in the shade. It’s a hardworking environment, and by the end of the shift, everyone is pretty tired. We pack up, lock the doors, and head home through the dusty roads of Kalingavaram. It’s just a regular life in a busy industrial town where the work never really stops for long. Sometimes the wind picks up and blows red dust into the yard, so we have to sweep again.
