Asd Labz is tucked away in Bangalore at Lakshmipuralayout, specifically at Venaktadri Nilaya on 4th A Cross. It’s in the Devasarndra K. R Puram area, which anyone who lives here knows can get quite crowded with the traffic. Yamini S. is usually around handling the day-to-day things. The office is really just a part of the building where we set up our equipment. We have several computers plugged in and wires running along the floor under the desks. It is one of those places where you have to take your shoes off at the door most of the time to keep the dust down. The street outside is narrow, so parking a car can be a real headache, but bikes fit just fine. We have a small kitchen area where we make coffee when the afternoon slump hits. The walls have a few old calendars and some charts pinned up. It’s not the kind of office you see in magazines; it feels more like a home that turned into a workspace over time. We get a lot of light in the mornings from the front door. We keep the windows open when the weather is nice, though the noise from the nearby construction can be a bit much sometimes. We just focus on what’s on the screens and try to stay on top of the pile of work. We usually finish up late and head out when the streetlights are already on.
