Anu Fashions

You will find us out in Kuruli village, right by the Vijaya Nagar milestone at 37 10. It’s a bit of a drive from the main city centers, but we like the space we have here. Our fashion business is run out of a fairly simple building. Inside, it’s a constant whirlwind of activity. We have sewing machines going, people cutting fabric on long tables, and racks of clothes waiting to be finished. It gets quite loud when all the machines are running at once. We don't have a polished boutique feel at all. It’s much more of a working production floor. There are scraps of cloth everywhere and rolls of material leaning against the walls. We do all the work ourselves, from the first stitch to the final check. The village atmosphere is nice because it’s a bit more relaxed than being in a crowded mall. We know most of the people who live nearby and they often stop by to say hello. During the summer, it can get pretty hot inside, so we keep the big doors open to catch whatever breeze we can. It’s a lot of long hours and hard work, especially when we have a big order to get out. We just focus on the clothes and making sure everything is put together correctly. It’s a simple life and a simple business, but it keeps us busy and we like the rhythm of the work here.
