We operate out of Royappa Layout in the Venkateshpuram area of Bangalore. Our building is number 288. It is a busy part of the city, and our office reflects that energy. We are part of a much larger international company, but here on the ground, it is just us doing our daily shifts. The office has that typical smell of old carpets and computer equipment. We spend most of our time staring at screens and talking to people on headsets. It is not the most glamorous work, but it keeps us busy. We have a small break room where the microwave usually has a line during lunch hours. People bring in food from home, so there is always a mix of different smells in the air. We do not have a lot of fancy decorations on the walls, just some calendars and a few personal photos on desks. The commute for most of us is pretty long because of the Bangalore traffic, so we are usually a bit tired when we get in. We try to keep the mood light though. There is no big mission statement posted on the door. We just show up, do the work that needs to be done, and try to help the customers who call in. It is a lot of data entry and checking numbers over and over. Sometimes the air conditioning is too cold, and we all have to wear sweaters even when it is hot outside.
