Am Time Centre

Am Time Centre is located at No.594/5 in Maruthi Plaza, which is right in the B Block of Chickpet. If you have ever been to Chickpet, you know it is a maze of narrow lanes and thousands of shops. Maruthi Plaza is always crowded, and getting up to our floor can take a minute if the hallway is full of people carrying bundles of cloth or boxes. Our shop is packed tight. We have shelves reaching all the way to the ceiling, and we use a small ladder to reach the stuff at the top. It is a noisy place because there is always someone shouting a price or a greeting nearby. We don't have a lot of space for sitting down, so we spend most of the day on our feet. The air always smells a bit like dust and the fried food from the vendor downstairs. We deal with a lot of people every day, mostly other traders and folks looking for a bargain. It is not the kind of place where you come to relax. You come here to find what you need and move on. We keep our records in big thick books because we trust them more than the computer sometimes. It is a frantic way to work, but we have been doing it so long that the quiet feels strange now.
