Our office is at No. 614/1 in Periyar Nagar, Bangalore. It’s right in the middle of Karnataka, so the weather is usually pretty good, though the traffic in this city can be a real headache. Allied Software Solutions Group Inc. isn't some massive tech campus with waterfalls and free food. We’re in a regular building where the windows let in a bit of the street noise from the neighborhood. Most of our day is spent looking at code or talking through software issues. It’s a lot of sitting and typing. We’ve got a few plants near the windows that someone remembers to water once a week. The desks are a bit cluttered with notebooks and old coffee mugs. We’ve been in this spot for a while now, and the local people in the area know us. There’s a small shop nearby where we get snacks during the afternoon slump. We don't have a corporate handbook telling us how to act; we just treat each other like normal people. If something breaks, we fix it. If a project is running late, we put in the extra time needed to finish it. It’s a practical environment. The carpets are a little worn in the spots where we walk the most, but that just shows we’ve been busy. It’s a comfortable place to work without all the unnecessary bells and whistles. We just focus on getting things right for whoever we’re helping that day in Bangalore.
