Alanta Bread Bar And Cafe

If you walk down 4th Block in Kalyan Nagar, you’ll find us over here at Alanta Bread Bar and Cafe. It’s right by the post office area. We usually get started pretty early in the morning when the streets are still a bit quiet and the air isn't so dusty yet. The kitchen gets hot fast once the ovens are going. We spend a lot of time just cleaning flour off the counters and making sure the coffee machine is behaving itself. It’s a bit of a tight squeeze behind the counter when there are three of us working at once, but we make it work. Customers come in, some are in a big rush for work and others just want to sit and stare out the window for an hour. We have these old chairs that creak a little, but nobody seems to mind much. Sometimes we run out of certain breads before noon and people get a bit annoyed, but that’s just how baking goes. We don’t have a massive team, just a few of us who live nearby. Bangalore traffic is always a mess outside, so we try to keep the inside feeling a bit more relaxed. We’ve been in Hbr 1st Stage long enough that we recognize most of the faces that walk through the door. It’s just a regular place where you can get a sandwich or a drink without a lot of fuss.
