Alampur

Alampur is located inside Hotel Chalukya at number 44 on Race Course Road. It’s an older building with a lot of character, and we’ve been part of the setup here for a long time. The area around the race course is quite unique, especially on days when there are events happening and the streets are packed with cars and people. Our dining room is pretty straightforward—no modern bells and whistles, just solid tables and chairs where people can sit down and eat in peace. We mostly get people who have been coming to Hotel Chalukya for years, and they know exactly what to expect when they walk through the doors. The kitchen staff has been with us for ages, and they have their own way of doing things that hasn't changed much over the seasons. We don't really go for all those new food trends you see online; we just stick to what we’ve always done. It’s a busy place during lunch hours, with a lot of talk and the sound of plates clattering, but it settles down in the afternoons. We just focus on keeping the place running smoothly and making sure the food is ready for whoever comes in. It’s a quiet, reliable kind of business, and being on Race Course Road feels like being in the heart of the old city every single day we are open.
