Airindia Sats, Bial ,Bangalore

This is about the work at Airindia Sats at the Bangalore airport, though my actual home base is way over in Kerala. Specifically, I'm from Mampuram, which is near Tirurangadi in the Malappuram district. My house is called Cholathodi House, and it's a much quieter place than the airport where I spend my working hours. Dealing with ground handling and airport services at BIAL means a lot of standing around and making sure things are where they should be. It’s a long way from the greenery of Kerala to the concrete of the Bangalore airport terminal. Usually, I’m thinking about the train ride back home or what’s happening in the village while I’m stuck in the middle of all the noise and planes taking off. The work itself isn't glamorous. It involves a lot of coordination and sometimes things go wrong with the luggage or the timing, which makes for long shifts. Back in Malappuram, life moves much slower. I have my family there and the local post office is just a short walk from the house. It’s a bit of a strange mix, living in one state but having your professional life tied to a major hub in another. There’s always someone calling about a shift change or a flight delay. It’s just the way things are when you work in aviation but keep your roots in a small town like Tirurangadi.
