Affiliated Computer Services

Over in Krishnarajpuram 17, you’ll find our little office for Affiliated Computer Services. It’s usually pretty quiet here, except for the humming of fans and the clicking of keyboards. We deal with computers all day long, which means a lot of staring at screens and taking things apart to see why they stopped working. It’s a bit of a mess sometimes with all the cables and spare parts lying around on the benches, but we know where everything is kept. People bring in their laptops when they won't turn on or when the screen goes dark for no reason. We spend a lot of time troubleshooting and trying to figure out what went wrong. Krishnarajpuram is a busy area, so we see a lot of different folks coming through the door. We aren't a big corporation with fancy desks; it’s just a practical space where we can focus on the hardware. Sometimes it’s a quick fix, other times we have to wait for a part to arrive from somewhere else. We’ve been doing this long enough that we can usually tell what's wrong just by the sound a machine makes. It’s decent work, and it keeps us busy from morning until evening. We try to be straight with people about what their computer needs and how much time it’s going to take to get it running. Just a local service for local people who need their tech sorted out.
