We’ve been here at Sunkenahalli for a while now, tucked away in the Ramakrishnappa Buildings on Bull Temple Road. It’s a busy part of Bangalore, especially with the temple nearby, but inside our lab, things are usually pretty quiet. We spend most of our days looking at samples and writing down notes. It’s not fancy work, just a lot of checking and re-checking. The building is older, which means it has some character, though the stairs can be a bit much when you’re carrying gear. We mostly stick to ourselves and get through the list of tasks for the day. Sometimes the traffic outside gets loud, but we’re used to it by now. There’s a small tea stall just down the road where we go when we need a break from the monitors. We’ve got a few desks, some specialized equipment, and a lot of filing cabinets that probably need organizing. It feels like a regular workplace where everyone knows their job and just does it without making a big fuss. We don’t really have many visitors, just deliveries and the occasional person dropping off paperwork. Bangalore-19 has changed quite a bit since we first set up here, but our corner of the building stays pretty much the same. It’s a bit cramped with all the boxes, but it works for what we do. We just focus on the science and try to finish up before the evening rush hour hits.
