A M K Stores is a local shop in Malleshwaram, specifically at Municipal Karmchari Nagar 4. We are right in the middle of the neighborhood, and we have been at this address for many years. It is a small store that sells basic things that people need for their kitchens and homes. The shelves are very tall and packed with items all the way to the top. We use a small ladder when someone needs something from the high shelves. Most of our customers are people who live in the houses right around us. We know their names and what they usually buy every week. It’s a friendly place. The floor is made of old grey stone that has worn down over time. We have a small wooden counter where we keep the ledger. We don't use a machine to ring up sales; we just write it all down by hand. The door at number 4 has a bell that rings whenever someone walks in, which helps us know if we are in the back room. Sometimes the neighborhood kids come in just to say hello. It is a long day, starting early in the morning and closing up late, but we like being here. Malleshwaram is a good place to have a shop because people are very loyal to their local stores. We just keep things simple and try to have what people are looking for.
