We are based in Basavanagudi, at number 43. Our place is quite close to Netkallapa Circle, which is one of those parts of Bangalore that still feels a bit like the old days. The streets are lined with trees, though the traffic has definitely picked up over the last few years. The office is in a building that has been around for a while, so it has those high ceilings and thick walls that keep it relatively cool even when it’s hot outside. We don’t have any big signs or flashing lights; it’s a fairly quiet entrance that you might miss if you aren’t looking for it. Inside, things are pretty lived-in. There are stacks of files on almost every flat surface and the chairs are a bit mismatched. We have a small corner where we make tea, and there’s usually a packet of biscuits open somewhere. It’s the kind of place where things move at a steady pace. We don’t try to act like a big corporate firm; we’re just a small team doing our work in a neighborhood we really like. Sometimes the bells from the nearby temples provide a bit of background noise, which is a nice change from the usual car horns. It’s a simple, honest workspace that reflects the way we like to do things. We’ve been here at number 43 for a long time and we’ve grown fond of the creaky floorboards and the local tea stall.
