We are based out of BM Lotus Apartments, in unit 306. It’s located in Doddakannahalli, which is part of the Varthur area in Bangalore South. Working from an apartment building keeps things pretty low-key for us. 1Kkarma is an IT services setup where we mainly focus on helping small businesses with their computer systems and internet needs. It’s a small team, just a couple of us who have been in the IT world for a long time. We got tired of the big corporate office life and decided to do something more direct. There is no corporate ladder here, just people doing work. We spend a lot of time on the phone or on remote calls trying to troubleshoot issues for clients. The area around Doddakannahalli has grown so much lately that the roads are always a bit of a mess, but we don't mind being a bit tucked away. Our workspace is filled with old monitors and various bits of hardware we’ve collected over the years. It’s not the most organized looking place, but we know where everything is. We don't make big promises we can't keep. If we can't fix something, we just say so. People seem to appreciate that honesty. It’s just us doing our thing in a quiet corner of the city, trying to make technology less of a headache for others. It might not be fancy, but it is real work.
