Our office is at No. 3 on 2nd Cross in the Grape Garden area of Thyagarajanagar. It’s an older part of Bangalore, which we actually prefer over the really shiny new areas. There is more character here. 12Desk Tech started because a few of us wanted to work on our own terms. We handle a lot of different technical tasks, from basic IT support to helping folks set up their own small networks. It’s a small operation. We don’t have a fancy lobby or a receptionist. Usually, whoever is closest to the door just lets people in. The name 12Desk came from our first space which literally had enough room for twelve desks, though we’ve shifted things around since then. The neighborhood is mostly residential, so it stays pretty calm except for the occasional street vendor passing by. We like the local food joints around here better than the mall food courts. We don’t spend money on big ads. Most of our work comes from people telling their friends about us. We just try to be honest about how long things will take and what they will cost. It’s a simple way to run things. Sometimes we get stuck on a project late into the night, but we have a good group of people here who don't mind putting in the time. We aren't polished and our office chairs don't match, but the work is solid and we're happy here.
