Shri Balaji Metal

Our yard is at Plot No. 622 in the Machhe industrial estate. It’s right near the Shock Iron Plant II, which is a huge place compared to ours. At Shri Balaji Metal, we mostly deal with different types of metal pieces and scraps. The plot is usually filled with piles of iron and other materials that come in on trucks throughout the day. It gets very dusty here, especially when the wind blows across the open space in Machhe. We have a small shed where we keep the scales and the paperwork. It’s not exactly a quiet job. There’s always the sound of metal clanging or trucks backing up. We don't have a big team, just a few of us handling the loading and sorting. You can see the heavy machinery from the neighboring plants from our gate. Some days are slow and we just sit around waiting for a delivery, while other days are so hectic we barely have time for lunch. We don't use any high-tech systems, just basic records and a lot of manual sorting. It’s physical work and your hands get dirty within five minutes of starting. But the business has been steady at this location for a while now. We know the other guys on the estate, and we all just try to get our work done without too much fuss or complications. It is what it is.
