Atuni Steel Casts

Working at Atuni Steel Casts means spending a lot of time around heat and metal. We are situated at Plot 50 in the Macche Industrial Estate. Macche is a bit of a trek for some people, but it’s where all the industrial work happens in this part of town. Our plot isn't the biggest, but we have the furnace and the molds set up just right for what we do. Steel casting is a slow process if you want to get it right. You can’t rush the metal when it is melting. Most of the guys here have been working with us for years. We know the sounds the machines make when they are running well. It’s a dusty place, and your clothes get dirty pretty fast. We don’t have a polished front office. If you come by, you’ll probably find us on the shop floor with our sleeves rolled up working on a mold. We take the raw materials and turn them into whatever shapes are needed by the clients. The Macche estate has its own rhythm. Usually, things pick up after the morning tea break. We keep a log of everything we cast in a big notebook on the desk. It’s a simple way to keep track of things. We don’t spend money on big signs or marketing. The work we do speaks for itself when people see the finished pieces. It’s just a regular foundry life, keeping the fires going.
