Fazal Khanawali

Our place, Fazal Khanawali, is located in the Malkar Complex right on P B Road in Hattragi. If you are driving through Hukkeri in the Belgaum area, you have probably passed us many times. We are a simple khanawali, which means we focus on the kind of food you would eat at home. No fancy sauces or strange ingredients here. We open early to get the vegetables chopped and the jowar roti ready. Being on the main road means we get a lot of people who are traveling long distances and just want a plate of food that doesn't cost too much. The building is a standard concrete setup, nothing special to look at from the outside. Inside, we have some sturdy tables and chairs that have seen a lot of use over the years. It gets a bit noisy with the trucks rumbling past on P B Road, but you get used to it after a while. We don't have a big menu. We just make what is fresh and what people like to eat every day. Sometimes we run out of certain items by the evening because we only cook in small batches to keep things from going to waste. It is hard work staying on your feet all day, but we like the people who stop by. We are just a local family trying to run a decent business and feed the folks passing through Hukkeri. That is all there is to it.
