Chef Kumars Classic

If you are arriving in Belgaum by train, you will probably see Chef Kumars Classic almost immediately. We are right there in 590001, situated directly opposite to the railway station. It is a busy spot to be in, with the trains coming and going at all hours. You can hear the announcements and the whistles from our front door. Being across from the station means we get all sorts of people walking by. Some are just passing through, and others have lived in this part of Belgaum their whole lives. We keep the place simple. It’s not about having the flashiest sign or the newest furniture. We just want to be a reliable spot on the street. The location is very convenient for commuters, but it also means it stays quite noisy. We’ve gotten used to the rhythm of the railway schedule by now. It is just a handful of us working here. We handle everything from the cleaning to the cooking ourselves. There isn't some big boss in an office somewhere; it’s just the people you see when you walk in. We try to keep the floors swept and the atmosphere calm, even when it’s chaotic outside. It’s a honest way to make a living in this town. You don’t need much more than a good location and a bit of hard work to keep things going at the station side. We just do the work and close up late.
