Dattaprasad Engineering

You can find our workshop at Plot 183 and 184 in the Udyambad industrial estate. It’s a busy part of town with lots of trucks moving around all the time. We do a lot of different engineering jobs here, mostly fixing parts or making things to order for other businesses. The floor is usually covered in some oil or metal shavings, but that's just part of the job. We have a few old lathes and some newer tools that we use every day. It’s not a quiet place by any means. Someone is always welding something or running a drill. We’ve been here in this spot for a long time, so we know the neighbors well. If a machine breaks down, we try to get it back up and running as fast as we can. We don't really do much advertising; people just know we are here in the estate. Most of the guys have been working with these machines for years and they know exactly how they sound when something is wrong. We keep a pot of tea going in the corner for when things slow down for a minute. It’s a plain building, nothing special to look at, but we do work that needs to be done. We just show up, do the tasks on the list, and make sure everything is solid before it leaves the shop. That’s how we’ve always done it at Dattaprasad Engineering. We just keep our heads down and work.
