Ambuja Cement

Our place is right on National Highway No-15, near the Guru Nanak Dev Thermal Power Plant Area in the Bathinda district. Being out here by the highway makes it easy for the big trucks to get in and out without getting stuck in city traffic. Ambuja Cement has been a part of this landscape for a while now. It’s a dusty environment, especially being so close to the power plant area. We spend a lot of time outside in the yard. The weather in Bathinda can be tough, really hot in the summer and cold in the winter, but we just keep working through it. We have a lot of space out here, which is good because we move a lot of cement every week. It’s mostly logistics and heavy lifting. We have a small room where we keep the paperwork and a kettle for making tea. There’s always someone coming by, either a driver or a local worker needing a few bags for a small job. We don't have a fancy reception area. You usually just find us by the stacks or in the small office. We just focus on keeping the inventory moving and making sure the counts are right at the end of the shift. It’s a straightforward, honest day's work for all of us here. We don't make it more complicated than it needs to be.
