Shovan Mahata

Shovan Mahata here. We are based out of Gidhni, which is a bit of a village area but still under the Kolkata 700084 pin code. It’s a quiet place, lots of trees and not as much noise as the main city. We operate out of a small space here. It’s where I grew up, so I know everyone around. We don’t have a big marketing budget or a team of people. It’s just me and a couple of others keeping things moving. The office is basically just a part of the house that we converted. It’s got a roof and a door, and that’s all we really need. Sometimes the internet is slow because we are a bit far out, but we make it work. We aren't trying to change the world. We just want to do our jobs and go home. Gidhni is a nice place if you like the peace and quiet. We see the seasons change from our window. In the monsoon, it gets very green and the air smells like damp earth. It’s a simple setup. No fancy chairs or air conditioning that works all the time. We just use what we have. If you come by, you’ll probably find us drinking tea and working on whatever is on the desk. That’s the reality of it. It is much better than being stuck in the middle of a loud city street.
