Js Software is run out of a place in Garia Natunpara, specifically at the address of Jaydeb Ghosh. Kolkata is a big city, but our corner here feels more like a regular neighborhood where everyone knows each other. We spend the majority of our hours sitting in front of computer screens, writing code and trying to fix bugs that pop up out of nowhere. It is quiet work for the most part, except for the sound of typing and the occasional ceiling fan whirring above us. We don’t have a big glass building or anything like that. Instead, it is a simple room with enough space for our machines and a few chairs for when we need to sit and think about a problem. Sometimes the internet acts up or the power goes out, which is just part of living and working in this part of town. We mostly focus on building small programs and helping local people with their technical needs. When we get a break, we might walk down the lane to get some snacks or just stretch our legs. It is a very humble setup, really. We aren't trying to change the world, just trying to write good software and make sure our clients are happy with what we build for them. The work is steady and it keeps our brains active, which is all we really ask for at the end of the day.
