Our office is located in the Joka area of Kolkata, specifically on B.H. Road in Rasapunja. It is quite a long way from the main center of the city, so the commute for many of us can be pretty tiring every single morning. We spend most of our days working on computers and dealing with various information systems and data. The building is tucked away in the Bishnupur area, and it is a bit quieter out here than it is in the middle of the busy Kolkata streets. We have several rooms filled with monitors and cables running across the floor in some spots. It is not a high-rise glass building with a view; it feels more like a regular workspace where people actually sit down to get things done. We drink a lot of tea while we look at our screens and try to figure out why some system is not working the way it is supposed to. Sometimes the internet connection gets slow and we all just have to sit around waiting for it to come back up so we can finish our tasks for the day. We do not have a big cafeteria on site, so most of us bring our own lunch from home in tiffin boxes and eat together at the main table. The rainy season is always a challenge because the road outside gets very muddy.
