Anjali Ladies & Gents Salon

You can find us at P11, Green View, in the Baishnabghata area of Garia. We are quite close to the Solo Ana Bangali Ana restaurant, which is a good landmark if you’re looking for the shop. It’s a neighborhood place where we see both men and women. We have separate sections so everyone feels okay while they are getting their hair done. The space is a bit tight, especially on Sunday mornings when everyone wants a haircut at the same time. There are shelves along the walls where we keep all the scissors, trimmers, and different colored bottles. The chairs are old-fashioned but they work fine. We don’t have a lot of fancy decorations, just some plain walls and the necessary tools for the job. It gets pretty hot in Garia, so we have the fans going all day long. Sometimes we have to move the chairs around to make room for more people to stand. We talk about the local news or what’s happening in the street while we work. Anjali Ladies & Gents Salon is the kind of place where you don’t need an appointment, you just show up and wait your turn. The floor is usually covered in hair until the end of the shift when we finally get to do a proper clean. It is just a regular part of the community here and we like being in this part of town.
