If you travel out to the Sindhari area in Barmer, you’ll find us at Jakharo Ki Dhani. This is where Vivarya Agro Limited is based, right in the heart of the Gram Panchayat. Living and working in a dhani means you are surrounded by fields and a lot of sand. It is a very quiet place compared to the cities, but the work we do is quite heavy. We are mostly involved in agricultural activities, dealing with the crops that manage to grow in this tough climate. The sun is really strong here, so most of our work happens early in the morning or late in the evening. Our office isn't much more than a simple room where we keep our records and meet with local growers. We talk a lot about water, seeds, and how the season is going to turn out. There are no big signs or glass doors. It’s just us, the local people, trying to make a living from the land. We help coordinate the farming efforts in this part of Barmer, making sure people have what they need to plant their crops. It is an honest way of living, though it can be very difficult when the monsoon fails us. We don't have any polished speeches or mission statements. We just show up every day, deal with the heat, and try to make sure the harvest is as good as it can be. It’s just life in the village, focusing on the dirt and the plants.
