Our yard is situated right near the Dhe Office. It’s the easiest way to tell people where to find us since everyone knows that building. We supply bricks to builders and regular folks who are just trying to fix up their homes. It’s a straightforward job and we don’t try to make it more complicated than it needs to be. We get the loads brought in and then we stack them up until someone buys them. It’s mostly just me and two other guys who do the heavy lifting. It gets very dusty, especially when the wind kicks up in the afternoon. We spend a lot of time on our mobile phones talking to drivers and trying to figure out where the next load is. Sometimes the trucks get stuck in traffic or break down, so we end up waiting around the yard with not much to do. We don't have any big flashy signs or a fancy office. It’s just piles of bricks and a small area to sit down. If you live around here, you probably see our trucks driving through the streets quite often. We keep a notebook to write down the orders and the prices we agreed on. It’s an old-fashioned way of doing things but we haven't had many problems with it. We’ve been around this area for a long time and we know most of the regulars. We just show up every day and do the work. It's a living.
