You’ll find Unitech Computing Solutions down in Gali Maniharan, right near the Gurudvara Modh here in Bareilly. It’s a busy little lane, and our shop is usually easy to spot because of the old monitors or computer cases sitting near the entrance. Inside, it’s a bit of a maze of wires, keyboards, and half-opened laptops that people have dropped off for us to look at. We spend most of our time hunched over workbenches with screwdrivers, trying to figure out why a machine won't turn on or how to get some old software running again. It’s not a very tidy place; there are screws in little jars and stacks of hard drives everywhere you look. We don’t wear uniforms or have a fancy waiting area for customers. People usually just stand by the counter and tell us what’s wrong with their tech while we listen and take notes on scraps of paper. Sometimes we have to tell people their old PC is beyond saving, and other times we manage to fix something that seemed totally dead. The street outside is always full of people going to the Gurudvara, so there’s a constant hum of activity that we’ve grown used to. We’ve been here long enough that we know the regular faces and which shops sell the best tea nearby. It’s just a place where we fix computers and try to help people out.
