Suraj Bhan Girls Inter College

Suraj Bhan Girls Inter College is tucked away in B-Block of Rajendra Nagar here in Bareilly. It’s a quiet residential part of town, which is nice for a school. The college has been standing for quite some time, and you can see it in the walls and the old trees in the yard. We focus on the girls from the local community, many of whom have sisters or cousins who came here before them. Our day starts early when the gates open and the girls start arriving in their uniforms. The hallways are usually echoing with talk and laughter between classes. The staff room is a busy place where we drink tea and go over the day's plans. We have simple classrooms with wooden desks that have seen a lot of use over the years. It’s not a modern glass building, but it works for what we need. Bareilly can get very cold in the winter, so everyone wraps up in sweaters during the morning assembly. We don't do anything flashy here. It’s just about getting the lessons done and making sure the students are learning what they need to. Sometimes the bell rings late, or we have to move a class because of a leak, but we just handle it. It feels like a big family most of the time. We know the parents and they know us. That's how it has always been here in Rajendra Nagar.
