Smart Hire, Times Group

Smart Hire is tucked away on Chaffee Street, over in Bidhan Nagar. We are part of the Times Group, but here in Durgapur, it feels more like a small local operation. Our address is Dn - 69. Durgapur is a steel city, so there’s always something happening with jobs and labor. We mostly look at hiring for different roles in various sectors. It gets pretty humid here in West Bengal during the summer, so the office fans are always running at full speed. We have some basic computers and a lot of paper files. It’s not a shiny corporate building with glass walls or fancy rugs. It’s just a place where we sit and talk to candidates who want to find work. Sometimes we have a lot of people waiting in the hallway, other times it is completely quiet. We drink a lot of chai while sorting through all the applications. People from all over the 713212 area code come by to see what's available. We try to be helpful to everyone. It’s a lot of phone calls and coordination. You know how it is, trying to get people and companies to agree on things. We’ve been at this spot for a while now. The street outside can get a bit noisy when the shifts change at the plants. We just focus on the task at hand. It’s honest work, nothing too complicated. We’re just regular people trying to help other regular people find a job near home.
