Das Enterprises

Narayanpur is a quiet enough place in the North 24 Parganas district. We are out here in Lakshmipur, which isn't exactly the middle of the city, and we like it that way. Das Enterprises is a local operation through and through. We started small and stayed that way, working out of a space that we’ve grown into over the years. The walls could use a fresh coat of paint, and the gate squeaks every time someone opens it, but it’s home for us. We see a lot of the same faces every week. People stop by to chat as much as they do for business. We don't have a website or fancy brochures. We just have our ledgers and our word. Most of our day is spent dealing with local deliveries and making sure the storage area is somewhat tidy, though that’s a losing battle most of the time. During the rains, the road outside gets a bit muddy and we have to be careful with the stock. We eat our lunch together in the back room and talk about things happening in the village. It’s a simple way to run a business. We don't have big corporate goals; we just want to make sure the work is done right and that we can open the doors again tomorrow morning. It’s just us here, doing what we know how to do in our little corner of West Bengal.
