Awadh Brick Field

We’ve got our setup at Awadh Brick Field in the Bothiana Mohalla area. It's quite close to the railway station road in Nawabganj, so you can hear the trains passing by while we work. We’ve been here for a good while, making bricks for the houses around this part of town. It’s a messy business, especially when the seasons change. The ground gets soft, and moving the heavy loads becomes a real chore. We aren't a big corporation; it’s just us and a few workers trying to make an honest living. Every morning we check the fire and see how the latest batch is doing. It’s a lot of waiting and then a lot of heavy lifting. We don’t spend much time on paperwork, mostly just out in the field. The post office is nearby, so we're easy to find if you're looking for the brickyard. People know us by name around here. We don't use any high-tech machines, just the same old methods that have worked for years. It’s hard on the back, but it’s what we know. We aren't looking to expand into some massive company. We just want to keep the yard running and supply the local builders when they have a project. It’s straightforward work. No hidden stuff, just clay, water, and heat until the bricks are ready to go out. The smoke from the kiln is just a normal part of our day. Sometimes we sit by the road and watch the traffic go toward the station.
