We are a group of folks here in Gamaniya Moti who spend most of our time out in the fields. It’s a quiet place in Banswara, and life mostly revolves around what we can grow in this soil. Ranapunja Farmer Producer Company Limited isn't a big fancy office or anything like that. It's just us farmers trying to figure things out together because doing it alone was getting too hard. Some days the weather is good, other days it’s a struggle with the water or the pests, but that's just how it goes in Rajasthan. We decided to pool our resources so we could get a better handle on the seeds and equipment we need. You’ll mostly find us talking about the latest harvest or what the market prices are looking like over a cup of tea. It’s not always organized perfectly, and we’re still learning the paperwork side of things, but we know our land. Most of our families have been right here in Banswara for generations, so it felt right to start something local. We don't have a big marketing team, just a small space where we meet up and keep our records. If you come by Gamaniya Moti, you’ll see the fields where we spend our days. We are just trying to keep the farming tradition alive and maybe make things a little easier for the next season. It’s simple work, but it’s what we know best.
