Shiv Dhara Agro Farmer Producer Company Limited is based in the village of Kumji Ka Parda. We operate out of Mahendra Singh Chouhan’s place. It’s tucked away in the Banswara Garhi area. Being a farmer producer company means we spend most of our time out in the fields or talking to other farmers in the village. We aren't some big city firm. Most of us have dirt under our fingernails most days. We look after the interests of the local growers here. It started because we needed a better way to handle our harvests and get a fair price. We deal with whatever the land gives us, mostly grains and local produce. The village is quiet for the most part, except during harvest time. Then it gets really busy. We don't have a receptionist or a lobby. If you want to talk to us, you usually just walk up to the house and see who is around. We handle the paperwork ourselves, even if it takes us a while. It’s a community effort more than anything else. We've lived in Banswara all our lives, so we know the land well. We just try to make things work for everyone involved. It’s honest work and it keeps us busy from sunrise to sunset. We are just trying to build something that lasts for our kids.
