We’ve been here at Carmelaram 65/1C for a while now. It’s just a regular shop where people from around the neighborhood stop by to pick up what they need for their houses. We keep the shelves stocked with everyday things like rice, dal, soaps, and whatever else people ask for. Sometimes it gets a bit crowded in the evenings when everyone is coming home from work, but we try to manage the rush. The space isn’t huge, but we make use of every corner we have for storage. Most of the people who come in are regulars we know by name. We don’t really do anything fancy here, just basic retail work. It’s mostly about making sure we don’t run out of the basics that people rely on. My brother helps out most days, and we spend a lot of time just organizing the stock that comes in the mornings. There’s always some crate to move or a shelf to dust. It can be tiring standing all day, but that’s just how it is running a shop in this part of town. We see a lot of different faces, from kids looking for snacks to older folks getting their weekly supplies. The location is convenient for most people living nearby, so they just walk over. We don’t have a big team or anything, just us keeping the place running and making sure the door stays open during the usual hours. We keep a ledger for the regular accounts too.
