Ranjitha Patil

I’m Ranjitha Patil and I’ve got a small place set up here in Marathahalli. It’s right near Jamalpur Gate, at number 42. If you know this area at all, you know how hectic the traffic can get around here, especially in the late afternoons when everyone is heading home. My office is tucked away just enough so it’s not too loud, but you can still feel the buzz of the city right outside the door. I’ve been working from this location for several years. It started out very small, and it’s still not huge, but it fits exactly what I need for my daily tasks. I have a couple of assistants who come in every day to help keep things moving. We spend most of our time on the phones or on our computers. The furniture is a bit of a mix-match of things I’ve picked up over time from different places. It’s a comfortable space to be in, at least for us. We have a small electric kettle in the corner for making coffee or tea when we get tired. There isn't a lot of extra space for people to wait around, so we usually just see one person at a time if they come by. Being near Jamalpur Gate is handy because most people know the landmark easily. I like the independence of running my own thing here. It's not always easy, but it’s my daily reality. We just take things one day at a time.
