We don’t have those open-plan desks or bean bags you see in the tech companies nearby. We have solid wooden desks and shelves full of old ledgers. I took over from my father, and I try to run things the same way he did, with a lot of patience. Sometimes the power goes out and we just sit and talk until it comes back on. It’s a small operation, just a few of us who have known each other for decades. We don’t do much advertising because most people find us by word of mouth or just by walking past the door.
