Railway Interiors

You can find us over at Vbf Pride, specifically in Flat 101. We’re on the 1st Cross of Kodihalli Main Road, right in the Hal II Stage area of Bangalore. The company is Railway Interiors. As the name suggests, we focus on what goes inside the train cars. It's about the seating, the panels, and the little details that people don't usually notice unless they aren't working right. Our office is basically a converted flat, so it’s got a very lived-in feel. We have samples of fabrics and metal bits scattered around the place. It’s a bit of a maze sometimes with all the drawings and prototypes we keep. We aren't a big factory; we’re more of the planning and design side of things. We spend a lot of time talking to suppliers and trying to find materials that can stand up to the wear and tear of thousands of passengers. Being in the 560008 area means we are close to a lot of other businesses, which is handy. We don't have any slogans or big promises. We just try to make sure the interior work is solid and lasts as long as it should. It’s a niche business, and we’ve been doing it long enough to know what works and what doesn't. Most of our day is spent on the phone or sketching out new layouts on the big table in the back. It’s a steady job that keeps us thinking about comfort and durability in tight spaces.
