We’ve been here in Basavanagudi for a while now. Most people know us around Marol 20. It is a busy spot. R C Venkatesh Rao isn't some big office with fancy glass doors. It’s just us doing the daily tasks. We open up in the morning and stay until the work is finished. Sometimes the weather makes it hard to get things done, but we manage. The streets around here get crowded during the lunch hour. You can hear the traffic outside all day. We mostly talk to the same people every week. It’s a simple setup. We have some old desks and chairs that have been with us since we started. Nothing is really new or shiny here. It’s just a place where things get handled. We don't spend much time on the computer unless we have to. Most of the work is just talking to people and making sure the numbers match up. We drink a lot of tea while we work. The neighborhood has changed a bit over the years. More shops have opened up nearby. But our corner remains pretty much the same. We don’t have a big sign outside. People just know where we are by now. We try to keep things quiet and just get through the pile of papers on the desk. It is not very exciting, but it is what we do.
