If you go down to Chickpet and find Anchepet BT Street, you will see us at number 37 3. This is Nitha Diamonds. We have been in this corner of the market for a long time. Chickpet is a very busy place with lots of history, and we are right in the middle of it. Our shop isn't big. It’s small and crowded with the tools we use for checking stones. We spend most of our time looking at diamonds under the light and talking to people who come in looking for something specific. It is a traditional way of doing business. We don't have a website or a big social media page. Most people hear about us from their parents or neighbors. The street outside is always full of noise and people pushing carts, but inside we try to keep things steady. We sit on the floor or at small desks and go through our inventory. It is slow, careful work. You can’t rush when you are dealing with things like this. We've seen many shops come and go in Chickpet, but we stay right here on BT Street. It’s a tough business sometimes, but we enjoy the daily routine. We just show up, open the shutters, and see who the day brings in. It’s an honest living in a very old part of Bangalore. We don't need fancy things to get the work done correctly every single afternoon.
