Our lab is over in Banashankari 2nd Stage on Bhoopasandra Main Road, number 32. It is a busy part of Bangalore, and there is always something going on outside our doors. We work in biotech, but our setup is pretty modest. We have a few rooms filled with equipment and glass jars. It is not like a big hospital lab; it is more of a local research spot. We have been in this location for a while and the locals know our small sign. We spend most of the day wearing lab coats and writing things down in our logs. The building is not new, and sometimes the plumbing gives us a little trouble, but we make do. We have a small table in the corner where we sit and have our coffee breaks. It is a very practical place to work. We do not have a public relations person or a big fancy office for meetings. If someone needs to talk to us, they just come by the main road. The area has a lot of small shops and eateries, so we usually go out for lunch. Bangalore is a big city for science, but we feel like we have our own little niche here in Banashankari. We just focus on our experiments and data every day. It is steady work and we enjoy the routine. There is always something to clean or a machine to check on.
